ACEO Mineral Art - Cerussite, Magnet Mine, Tasmania

ACEO is the acronym of Art Cards Editions and Originals. Artwork is created on a card that measures 2.5x3.5 inches and has been a popular format since around 2004.

This Steve Sorrell original artwork ACEO completed today, is of a "chrome" cerussite from the Magnet Mine, near Waratah, Tasmania, and rendered in coloured pencil. It is quite challenging working on something this size.

This habit of cerussite was originally called chrome cerussite as it supposedly contained a fair amount of chromium, but subsequently debunked. The Magnet Mine is the Type Locality for this variety.
