Out and about today in the Victorian goldfields about 30km south of Ballarat. This Dash Cam footage takes us through part of the Enfield State Park to Misery Gully. During the Gold Rushes, this peaceful landscape was dominated by tents and diggers from around the world. The digger's lifestyles are often reflected in local place names like Misery Creek and Surface Point, the latter being a Chinese settlement in the 1860s. Gold fossicking is still allowed in much of the Park. The road runs from Berringa almost through to Mount Mercer and is along the top of a ridge for much of the journey. Apologies for a small number of skips, three I think. These were due to the road being rough enough to trigger the Dash Cam collision alert! When this happens, a small amount of footage is stored in a different location, and I forgot to copy it when I retrieved the other footage.
