On our way back up to the north of the State and staying in Scamander for the night. Took the opportunity to check out the Orieco Mine, an old copper mine about 12k from the Scamander township. Managed to navigate my way over the creek without getting my feet wet! There is an adit, a shaft, dumps and the footings of a building. I was able to find a few bits of malachite, azurite and chalcanthite. Possibly beaverite too...
Last time I was there was 20 to 25 years ago. Needless to say, it is a bit different to what I remember...
